2026 Awards
The Northeast Transportation and Wildlife Collaborative (NETWC) seeks to honor people, organizations and projects that have made substantial contributions to ecological conservation, stewardship, and public safety, or exemplified outstanding collaboration or innovation.

- Regional Award
- Local Award
- Transborder Award
- Leadership Award
- Innovation – Transformation Award
The nomination form is available. We encourage you to review the award descriptions below in advance to determine the most appropriate category for your nomination.
- Lifetime Achievement Award – Up to 2 individuals per conference that have gone beyond the call of their position to bring about change in road ecology in northeastern North America throughout their career. These individuals have demonstrated positive impacts to the community of practice as it relates to ecological conservation, wildlife, plants, communities, and partnerships, and are nearing retirement.
- Regional Award - For an agency, organization, or partnership and individuals that embraced ecological conservation and stewardship, and provided ecological and safety benefits at state/provincial and/or multi-state/provincial scales. This award is recognizing collaborative work resulting in the conservation and/or restoration of ecological function. One award per conference.
- Local Award - For an agency, organization, or partnership and individuals that embraced ecological conservation and stewardship, and provided ecological and safety benefits on municipal-scale transportation projects. One award per conference.
- Transborder Award - For an agency, organization, or partnership and individuals that embraced ecological conservation and stewardship in the delivery of transportation projects across state/provincial borders. The award would be given to all parties nominated as partners in the award. One award per conference.
- Leadership Award- For individuals that have gone beyond the call of their position to bring about change in the world of road ecology in northeastern North America with respect to ecological systems, wildlife, plants, and partnerships. Up to two awards per conference.
- Innovation - Transformation Award - (Chrysalis): For an individual, group or partnership who implements innovative projects or ideas or has demonstrated transformative concepts, moving the needle beyond conventional or traditional approaches in road ecology application or research in the northeast.
